Sikkim is a new great destination to discover

Sikkim is a new great destination to discover in the eastern Himalayas, between Nepal and Bhutan. Being a former Kingdom, Sikkim joined the Indian Union in May 1976 and became India’s 22nd State.

With Mt. Kangchendzonga on the background, the third highest peak in the world, an incredible diversity of fauna and flora, the great influence of Buddhism and the variety in climates make Sikkim one of the most beautiful States of India. Still to be discovered by foreign tourists. Sikkim is divided into 4 districts, North, East, West, and South. Sikkim is also a very eco-friendly state; plastic bags are prohibited, smoking on the streets, and public places are not allowed, and chemical fertilizers are prohibited.

To enter Sikkim, you need an ILP (Inner Line Permit), easy to acquire at the borders of Sikkim. As Sikkim is close to the Chinese borders, this is a sensitive area and to visit these parts you will need extra permits. Some parts are even forbidden to go to for foreign tourist, like Zuluk, one of the paths of the legendary Old Silk Route. Contact us for more info about these permits.
