If you are a coffee lover, and you’re are abroad like in Jakarta, you might ask the following question. Where to find a really good coffee in Jakarta? In these articles, we share with you inside information. Learn from the locals. Happy reading, and above all enjoy your coffee.
Hello there, travellers. I am Widya, a Chinese Indonesian. This article will highlight a good coffee around Jakarta, not just the nice spots they set up as coffee shops. Hope you get to visit one of them.
I am no coffee connoisseur but I know good coffee. I like them black and strong and smooth. I like them fun and sweet and colourful. I like them lots. My mum introduced coffee to us since infants. I grew up in a household that drinks coffee as breakfast and then another coffee break on daily basis. Consider me your go-to-coffee-girl.
Pricing here is considered standard coffee pricing nowadays, which is not cheap but somehow we tolerate. Most of the shops also don’t have very spacey outlets but I almost always managed to read or get some work done more times than less. Talk about focus, eh?
Please comment when you have visited these spots or any other shops I didn’t mention here. There are plenty more places that also serve great coffee. Would love to hear some feedbacks and inputs from you. As usual, numbering is not based on order. Lets begin.
I know I said numbering is not based on order, but this one is my numero uno based on taste and location. I would go Hot Nutty Irish Latte, less sweet, please. Coffee is strong and smooth, even for their iced ones. And their outlets are quite easy to find: Colony Building Kemang Raya, Gandaria City Mall, Cilandak Town Square Mall, Pacific Place Mall, Equity Tower Sudirman (South Jakarta), Central Park Mall (West Jakarta).
Love this one as well; coffee is good, and they also serve yummy cakes and pastries. I notice now after writing this article that I love Irish (Banana) Nut Latte. Apparently, that’s what I order most of the time. Typical me. Outlets are strategically located in Senopati, Kemang Raya, Setiabudi One Building, Rasuna Said Kuningan (South Jakarta), Menteng (Central Jakarta).
ONE FIFTEENTH COFFEE
Located in Jalan Gandaria 1/63 South Jakarta. I come here for their Double Espresso and Bacon Burger. Yummy. Let me know when you wanna swing by. I might join you.
I am a sucker for a good ice salted coffee. So that’s almost what I always order here: Ice Salted Caramel Latte, please. Other times I would have Piccolo Latte. Delish, for me that is. Have fun choosing, you.
Outlets are located in Cilandak Town Square Mall, Grand Indonesia West Mall (Central Jakarta), Puri Indah Mall (West Jkt), Maxx Box Lippo Village Karawaci (Tangerang), The People’s Café in Setiabudi One, Kota Kasablanka Mall (South Jkt), Summarecon Mall Serpong (Tangerang).
MONOLOG QUALITY COFFEE CO.
The coffee here is tasty. Many people swear by it. Quality Coffee is their middle name. They ought to taste good. Food is good too here. Outlets are in Plaza Senayan Mall (Central Jakarta) and Pondok Indah Mall 1 Street Gallery (South Jakarta). You would love the Street Gallery. Loads of food choices. Bakery shops as well.
Located in Jl. Kemang Raya 8B, South Jakarta. It’s behind Aksara Store. This one is pretty fun if you want to brew your coffee. Barista is there to guide you step by step. Coffee is not bad at all. Please swing by if you’re in the area.
GIYANTI COFFEE ROASTERY
Located in Jl. Surabaya Menteng, Central Jakarta, surrounded by several restaurants and just across the antique market. So it’s an excellent rest stop for a quick coffee break from all the shopping you do across the street. It has this beautiful retro – vintage style décor with white brick walls. The toilet is big and clean; there’s free water refill and service is good. The Giyanti offee Roastery is one of the “happening” coffee shops in town. However, their coffee is a tad bit too strong for me.
Outlets are located in Pondok Indah Mall 2 and Citywalk Sudirman Central Jakarta. They are famous for their brunch menu and of course very good coffee.
Sure, you will survive without coffee. But is only survival worth living for?
There’s coffee; then there’s Blacklisted coffee. Delve into the world where the black brew is king.
Those are their taglines. Adorable. I like like like this one. Food is good; coffee is great, strong and smooth. Their black bun burger is tasty. Outlets are sophisticatedly black. Located in Lotte Shopping Avenue Mall, Street Gallery Pondok Indah Mall (South Jakarta).
COFFEESMITH DUREN TIGA JAKSEL
I put Coffeesmith on my list before I saw this Korean drama series with a really hot male lead where they shot some of their scenes in Coffeesmith Korea. So now I like this shop even more. They provide clean toilet, free water and Musholla. These details are a huge plus. And of course, I get my fix here.
The outlet is located in Jalan Duren Tiga No. 19 South Jakarta.
