The Everest base camp trek is a trek you will find on many bucket lists. The spectacular mountain scenery of the Himalayas with the presence of the Everest’s daunting summit makes this trek an adventure beyond your imagination. We start by discovering Kathmandu before we make the thrilling flight to Lukla. The lodging on the way is of a very high standard, the scenery breathtaking. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. The agent will help you to check into your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities during our Everest base camp trek. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Kathmandu Valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. In the morning, after breakfast, you will be guided to visit renowned and one of the largest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, Bouddha Stupa and Swoyambhunath. After lunch, you will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. Return to hotel and preparation for the trek. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 3: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding
In the early morning, after breakfast, you will board a flight to Lukla, and a landing on a steep mountain runway brings you to the start of your trek at the village of Lukla (2850m). Even during the entire flight, you can enjoy incredible panoramic sights of the Himalayas of Nepal including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8153m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m), Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,393m),Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, Langtang etc. From Lukla, you will head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail. We stay overnight in a local lodge.
Day 4: Trek to Namche
Leaving Phakding, you will be crossing the river twice through high suspension bridges and arrive at Monjo – the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up to protect and preserve the fragile mountain environment. From here, you will follow the path to reach Namche, which is the major trading village in entire Khumbu region. If the weather is clear, you will get the first glimpse of Mt Everest from this point. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Namche.
Day 5: Rest day in Namche
Today you will spend your entire day in Namche by taking complete rest to acclimatise to gain altitude, plan for future trips and get habituated to your trekking destinations. To acclimatise, you will also visit Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary and Everest View Hotel for the sunset view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Namche.
Day 6: Trek to Thyangboche
Today, you will walk along the trail that follows the path to the side of the valley, high above the Dudh Koshi River. You will get to see some great views of great peaks of the Khumbu region including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. As you move downwards, you will pass through several Sherpa villages and teashops and continue the hike to reach Thyangboche by following a zigzag path. The trail offers impressive sights of Rhododendron bushes with beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Finally, you will reach Thyangboche, which is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.
Day 7: Trek to Pheriche
Today, you will be descending downhill from Thyangboche through the forests and by crossing the Imja Khola. The trail then follows the upward path to the village of Pangboche which faces Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m). The joy of the trek is mesmerising by the views of mountains, forests, Gompas, rivers, etc. Further two hours of walking will take us to the last destination for today. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Pheriche.
Day 8: Rest day in Pheriche
After the continuous walk for seven days, you will be taking a complete rest today. You will spend your entire day in Pheriche relaxing in order acclimatise to gain altitude, plan for future trips and get habituated to your trekking destinations. However, if you want, you can climb onto the ridge overlooking Mt. Lhotse and Imja Valley. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Pheriche.
Day 9: Trek to Lobuche
Leaving Pheriche, you will trek uphill to Lobuche and have to pass through a big valley, Khumbu glacier and several teahouses in between. Besides, the trail also offers magnificent views of Cholatse and Tawache. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Lobucheche.
Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep
Your last destination for today will be Gorak Shep, the base for the EBC. To reach Gorak Shep, you have to pass Kala Patthar and Khumbu glaciers surrounded by astoundingly beautiful snow-clad mountains. Three hours further walking you will beat Gorak Shep. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Gorakh Shep.
Day 11: Trek to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorak Shep
A very early start is required to reach the Everest Base Camp. It takes several hours as the trail weaves its way through ice pinnacles and crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. On the return leg, you can opt to take a higher route to get a spectacular view of the Khumbu Icefall and South Col. Overnight stay at guesthouse at Gorakh Shep
Day 12: Trek to Pangboche
To reach the final destination for the day, i.e., Pangboche, you need to walk downhill. A couple of hours of walking will take us to Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA). From there, you will continue the journey and pass Khumbu Khola, Imja Khola and the suspension bridge before arriving at Pangboche. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 13: Trek to Namche
From Pangboche, your journey will continue towards Namche. The trail will take you across rivers and rhododendron forests amidst the views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku mountains. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Namche.
Day 14: Trek to Lukla
Today is the final day of Everest base camp trek, and the ultimate destination is Lukla. The path goes alongside the Dudh Koshi to reach Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla in the evening, you will have time to enjoy local drinks with a company of Sherpa guides and porters. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Lukla.
Day 15: Flight to Kathmandu
After having breakfast, you will walk to the airport to fly back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching the Kathmandu airport, your guide will transfer you to the designated hotel. During the day you will have free time for refreshments and shopping. Evening farewell dinner will be organised at Nepali restaurant with Nepali cultural dance program. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 16: Leaving Kathmandu
After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight home. If you want to continue your stay in Nepal for short tours i.e. National parks, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, etc., please do let us know. We will be proudly serving your needs.
