Discover Kalimantan’s extraordinary fauna and flora
Tanjung Puting Park
Camp Leakey and Pondok Tanggui Orangutan Rehabilitation Centres
Overnight stay on a houseboat
The Tanjung Puting Park in Central Kalimantan is a perfect location for spotting semi-wild and wild orangutan in the rainforest. The fauna and flora is extraordinary, wit coastal mangroves swamps, lowland rainforest and dense jungle as the park’s three primary ecosystems. Tanjung Puting’s wildlife is exotic: it is the habitat of orangutans, only found in Sumatra and Borneo, proboscis monkeys, clouded leopards, leaf monkeys, macaques, pangolin anteaters, tiny tarsier monkeys, lizards, crocodiles, pythons and more than 600 (!) bird pieces.
The Camp Leakey Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre was founded in 1971 as Indonesia’s first orangutan rehabilitation centre. Now there are three such centres: Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tanggui and Camp Leakey.
This awesome 3-day trip gives you the unique opportunity to explore Kalimantan’s unique fauna and flora, and its precious orangutans in particular. Join us on this great experience!
